Nominated senator Mercy Kwamboka and Mary Seneta reportedly exchanged blows in parliament after a standoff on the election of Narok senator Ledama Ole Kina to a senate committee.
The legislators, as reported by Citizen TV, differed due to the controversial election of the ODM senator as the deputy chairman of the Health committee. Mary Seneta had allegedly placed a bid for the position.
Ledama trounced her female colleague eliciting anger from the majority side. The Deputy majority whip Farhiya Ali expressed her displeasure and proposed postponement of the election.

The minority side accused Ali of forging the signature of nominated senator Millicent Omanga who was absent. It is alleged that Omanga was in support of the candidature of her Narok counterpart and not her party’s candidate Mary Seneta.
The forgery led to the fight after the minority side protested.
“I will deal with you, I am in leadership, you will know who I am,” Ms Kwamboka charged at her colleague.

Ole Kina also addressed the issue stating how he is facing opposition from certain quarters in the senate every time he vies for a leadership post.
“I was elected to chair the Senate County Public Accounts and Investment Committee (CPAIC )and was denied, now I have been elected vice chair Health Committee and now they are trying to frustrate me,” Ledama cried out.
